RISE: Research Innovation & Startup EcosystemIntroduction:RISE is the Technology Business Incubator of Sullamussalam ScienceCollege,Areekode. RISE aims to foster a dynamic ecosystem that nurtures innovation, supports startups, and promotes entrepreneurship among students and the local community. Accomplishments:1. Startup Incubation: RISE has successfully incubated 11 companies from diverse industry sectors within its first year of operation. Notably, two of these startups have emerged from the college's own student body, demonstrating the fertile ground forinnovation within the institution. 2. Infrastructure Enhancement: The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre has been upgraded to a full-fledged Technology Business Incubator, with additional funds secured for expansion. The newly constructed 2000 sq. ft. facility boasts a corporate atmosphere and currently hosts 10 promising startups out ofthe available 36 seating spaces. 3. Collaborations and Partnerships: RISE has organized successful Idea Fests andBusiness Pitch Days in partnership with IEDC, attracting eminent professionals fromvarious industries. The initiative has also hosted investors and esteemed figures suchas Mr. Anoop Ambika, the CEO of KSUM, further solidifying its network andsupport system. 4.Research and Development Initiatives: RISE actively promotes a culture ofresearch, innovation, and entrepreneurship through various programs and events. Anadvisory board comprising experts in the field guides the initiative's progress, ensuring continuous growth and development. 5.Intellectual Property (IP) Support: Faculty members at SS College havebenefited from IP support programs, enabling them to register their intellectualproperty and fostering an environment of innovation and idea protection.6.Global Collaborations: RISE has established collaborative partnerships withpremier research institutions both domestically and internationally, enhancing itsglobal outreach and potential impact. 7. Section 8 Company: RISE is registered as a section 8 company under the nameSullamussalam Foundation for Rural & Women Startup Promotion, emphasizingits commitment to promoting startups, particularly in rural and women-centric sectors. Conclusion:RISE embodies a commitment to fostering innovation, supporting startups, andpromoting entrepreneurship within the college and the local community. With notableaccomplishments within its first year of operation, strategic partnerships, and a focuson promoting rural and women-centric startups, RISE is poised for long-term successand sustainability in its mission to revolutionize innovation and entrepreneurship
