U-Green Events will be India's first exclusive Green Wedding Planning Company, organizing Eco-friendly Weddings, & ensuring zero waste. As we all are aware of climate change, and to combat this issue to an extent everybody is trying to do their bits. Our day-to-day living patterns themselves release huge amounts of greenhouse gases, imagining how much two to three day long functions would be harming our environment scares me, and so I came up with my initiative of organizing completely sustainable weddings in India. Sources suggest, approximately 10 million weddings are celebrated in India every year, so the amount of waste these functions generate is beyond calculation. With the objective of going totally sustainable, my project includes working with local businesses for arranging the necessities of a wedding, such as potters, bamboo weavers, and craftsmen for Eco-friendly decoration, local florists for the use of seasonal flowers, local weavers for handcrafted reusable fabrics & small industries for recycling of wastes. There are hundreds of wedding planners in India & only a few of them sometimes organize a couple of organic weddings, unlike us they aren’t completely into sustainable celebrations. With my company’s initiative of going totally sustainable, I’m very much confident that weddings in India will eventually go green.
