What this state's numbers show

Jharkhand is the largest register in the country with no Seed Fund incubator at all. It carries 5,045 companies, and not one rupee of the scheme's Rs 755.3 crore has been approved to an incubator in the state. The register runs through Ranchi at 39.1%, Jamshedpur at 15.9% and Dhanbad, an industrial three-city spread rather than a capital-dominated one. Recognition sits below the national rate at 44.5% against 51.2%, and the funding-signal rate close to it at 11.0%.

About this data

Indian Startup Map is an independent directory built from the Government of India's Startup India register and other public sources, snapshot 2026-08. We do not run the register, we do not own or represent any company on it, and nothing here is an endorsement of one. Company names and logos belong to their owners. Every source is listed.

A dot on the map may be wrong, and most of them are not an address. Most startups sit at the centre of their district, which is a label position and not a place. Where we do hold something finer it is a geocode of a registered office, which is frequently a founder's home rather than a place of business, so we round it and never publish the address line.

Registration is not an operating signal. A large share of registered startups are dormant, and we have no way to tell you which. Figures come from our own count of that snapshot and will differ from the government's own census, which counts differently.
