Smriti, is craft based, sustainable fashion company established in 2007 and managed by Smriti Gupta. We have been working in the fashion industry for over 10 years now. We design and produce our own garments, the fabric production happens in various craft clusters across India. Our entire production is proudly made in India. Because of our expertise in design and manufacturing, the initial years of the organisation was focused on successfully executing large productions for established brands in India. Smriti draws from the colors, philosophies and cultures of India to create a unique voice, questioning place and perspective through design. With roots in craft and community, our relationship with handloom began in 2007 as an investigation of possibilities. As a design house it continues to create new conversations in textile, culture and festivals of India through a range of saris, garments and home linen. Created with karigars across Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Varanasi, Smriti’s designs innovate upon century old skills, in pursuit of defining a new aesthetic vocabulary. In 2012, with the emergence of e-commerce in India, we shifted focus to creating a niche market of Made to Order apparel for women. Our first partnership for selling our products online was with Jaypore Ecommerce Pvt Ltd, New Delhi, now a venture of the prestigious Aditya Birla Group and till date our largest buyer. The current model of the business is creating new collection and launches on various different ecommerce platforms every month of Made to Order, women’s apparel, kid’s apparel, sarees and Home Linen. We currently stock with Jaypore.com, Nykaafashion.com, Ogaanmarket.com, Amazon.in and a newly launched smritigupta.net. Smriti Gupta also partners with Taj Khazana, Taj Hotels across India. The next step is to create direct customer base, through Brand development and identification.
