Dr. Swetha Bobba is the Principal Investigator of the Agroculture mobile app. and, is the Founder and Director of Immortalight (OPC) Pvt Ltd.Prior to starting Immortalight, Dr. Bobba has worked at the FEMTO-ST Institute, The University of Franche-Comté, France as a Research Scientist on non-linear optics for applications such as Optical (Fluorescence and Infrared) Spectroscopy, Optical Metrology, Photoacoustic imaging and Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT). This and her PhD work experience on supercontinuum generation in graphene for Optical Sensor applications have led her to start Immortalight to pursue Cancer research, along with its photonics applications to Farming, thereby improving the crop yield and making the land fertile.Dr. Bobba has formulated the novel idea of integrating Photonics and Computer Science for restoring lands and transforming them to fertile crops, and possesses a strong ambition, expertise, knowledge, leadership, and innovation skills to successfully carry out this work to save millions of farmers across India and the world, by also providing healthy and safe food to its citizens.Dr. Bobba has 11 Research Publications till date with a Patent (in application stage). During her PhD career, Dr. Swetha Bobba has participated in many Science & Entrepreneurship Competitions, and has been the winner of the UK Institute of Physics (IOP) research student conference fund (2019) and the Travelling Fellowship from The Worshipful Company of Tin Plate Workers, UK (2019). She is also the finalist of the prestigious SET for BRITAIN competition at the House of Commons, UK Parliament (2016); the UK ICT Pioneers Competition by Engineering and Physical Science Research Council (EPSRC) (2015); and has received huge accolades for her innovative research on real-world applications presented at these competitions.Along with her love for Biology and Photonics (Physics), her interest and experience in Computer Science has led her to develop this integrated Agroculture mobile app. to help farmers: analyse (the soil), grow (the appropriate crop(s)), rent (the equipment/other farming machinery), store-trade-sell their crop harvest ALL at ONE place, thereby providing them the best livelihood with maximum benefit possible.
