Extraction of Coir by thermo Mechanical Technology In early days coir use to extract by DC3 method and ratting method In process all there type of fibres i.e bristle, mattress an spinning fibres use to extracted separately now a days both methods does not exists. Now decorticating method is familiar. In this method fibre use to damage and it is not possible to get quality fibres and bristle fibre. Because of non availability of bristle fibre toilet and floor cleaning coir brushes are not manufacturing by observing these Dhanjaya Hegde Deputy Director DIC Karwar. Invented new technology i.e thermo mechanical technology In this technology all three types of fibres can be extracted separately with this quality fibre can be extracted. Now a days we are using plastic brushes for toilet and floor cleaning which are not eco friendly. eco friendly brushes can be reintroduced by using quality bristel fibre. Coir pith which is being used several purpose is the by product of coir industry. Pith obtained by present decorticating method needs further treatment while using. But pith obtained by thermo mechanical technology need not further treatment while using . Coir extracted by thermo mechanical technology will get oil coated automatically and will not get damaged. Because of these life of material which manufactured by using this coir will be more.
