Doorstep delivery of all sorts of things is not an innovation any more in the day and era that we all live in. But doorstep delivery of fuel is the innovation that has the potential to revolutionize the entire fuel distribution industry in India. After the Government of India’s approval backed by changes in the policies, the stage is now almost set for this revolution. This whole revolution is premised upon the innovation of a special purpose vehicle that is a mobile petrol pump. Now quite literally a petrol pump can travel to the very location of a consumer in order to dispense fuel! Why is it important to deliver fuel at the location of bulk consumers? The large consumers of diesel in India, procure diesel for commercial purposes. These consumers buy diesel in bulk from the retail outlets. But in order to bring that fuel back to the location of consumption, they have to go through a lot of hassles. First of all they have to hire a vehicle and manpower then load that vehicle with barrels and get to the retail outlet. Fill in the barrels with the required diesel and then travel back to their location. In this whole process a lot of diesel is wasted in the form of dead mileages, spillages and also theft. Consequently these businesses have to bear huge losses in the procurement of diesel. With the help of doorstep diesel delivery service, all these losses can be cut out and customers can make big savings along with experiencing great convenience. This model is based on operation of a special purpose vehicle hence by ramping up the number of mobile petrol pumps operating on the ground, this solution can be scaled up very quickly in order to suffice the growing demand of customers.
