One of the oldest civilisations in the world, India is a mosaic of multicultural experiences. With a rich heritage and myriad attractions, the country is among the most popular tourist destinations in the world. However, recently India has arrived at a critical point in its travel journey. With more than 2 billion domestic trips taken by Indians it appears as if Indians are discovering their own country. Problem: However, Travelling in India is still unsolved. Mainly because of following 3 reasons: Inconvenient: Travelling is still inconvenient for many Indians especially professionals who are quite busy with their work. One trip; several tasks: From research to bookings to reminiscence there is a ton of work which goes into planning a single trip. Unreliable: There is a lack of trusted brands when it comes to travel in India. Services are still not standardised and the existing companies don’t have a product of their own, they just pass the leads/queries to local travel operators. Lack of Motivation: Most importantly, there is a lack of meaning or motivation when it comes to existing package tour solutions provided by online companies. Solution: Every place has a story, with Teesta you travel through those stories. Teesta is an online platform which has them based curated trips designed for everyone. For e.g. One trip would be “Walk with the Budhha” where you get to travel through the story of Budhha and get to really know how Prince Siddhartha became Budhha. We design these trips ourselves. Once we design it, we handle the entire operation. We pick travellers from the door and drop them at the door and making it convenient for the travellers to travel through these experiences. Secret Sauce Uniqueness of Teesta is really in the way we design the trips in the form of stories and then assign a trip manager to each of these trips who travels with you. For e.g. for trip “Walk with the Budhha”, your trip manager will be a Budhhist Monk. Revenue We charge 10% commission on top of the Operations cost for each trip from the travellers as a product fee for Teesta Generating Employment We all know Tourism is a driving force of job creation. There are 2 types of jobs we would be creating: Direct Jobs: Trip Managers, Guides, Drivers, Support staff etc who are directly paid by Teesta Indirect Jobs: From street side vendors to shopkeepers all will benefit from the consumption by tourists. Teesta aims to make Traveling in India simple, reliable and exciting.
