Startup India records the district. We do not have a street address for this company, and we will not invent one.
No point is drawn, because we do not have one.
The register records this company's district and nothing finer, so the district is what is drawn. No point is shown, because we do not have one.

Title: Advanced Membrane Development for PEM Electrolyzer Efficiency Enhancement Submitted to: Parivartan startup grants-Manufacturing Submitted by: Sanionics Pvt Ltd Date: 1. Executive Summary Global efforts in the hydrogen sector have accelerated, driven by governments, industries, and corporations aiming to transition to a hydrogen economy and decarbonize sectors that are challenging to electrify directly. Sanionics is focused on innovating proton exchange membranes (PEM) for hydrogen-based energy solutions, contributing to the low-carbon economy by enabling hydrogen production and utilization in industries like steel, cement, and transport. Hydrogen production through Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) electrolyzers is a promising pathway toward clean energy transition. However, current membrane technology presents challenges in terms of cost, efficiency, and durability. This proposal seeks funding to develop advanced membrane materials that enhance the performance of PEM electrolyzers by improving proton conductivity, reducing degradation, and lowering overall system costs. 2. Background and Problem Statement PEM electrolyzers play a critical role in green hydrogen production, but their widespread adoption is hindered by: • High production costs due to expensive perfluorosulfonic acid membranes. • Performance degradation due to chemical and mechanical stress. • Efficiency limitations resulting from resistance and crossover losses. Advancements in membrane materials can significantly address these limitations, leading to cost-effective and efficient hydrogen production for industrial and commercial applications. 3. Objectives The primary objectives of this research and development effort are: 1. Develop novel polymer-based or composite membranes with enhanced proton conductivity and reduced degradation rates. 2. Improve mechanical stability and chemical resilience under high operational stress. 3. Optimize membrane thickness to balance efficiency and durability for various application. 4. Conduct extensive testing to validate performance improvements in real-world PEM electrolyzer setups. 4. Methodology The project will be executed in the following phases: Phase 1: Material Synthesis and Characterization • Identify potential membrane materials with high ionic conductivity and structural integrity. • Fabricate and characterize membranes through spectroscopy, electrochemical impedance analysis, and mechanical stress testing. Phase 2: Prototype Development • Integrate newly developed membranes into PEM electrolyzer cells. • Optimize membrane-electrode assembly (MEA) for enhanced efficiency. Phase 3: Performance Testing and Validation • Conduct long-term durability testing under operational conditions. • Evaluate hydrogen production efficiency, crossover rates, and overall system stability. Phase 4: Scaling and Commercialization Strategy • Develop cost models for large-scale production. • Engage with industry partners for technology transfer and commercialization. 5. Expected Outcomes • A high-performance, cost-effective membrane for PEM electrolyzers. • Reduction in hydrogen production costs, enhancing market viability. • Improved durability and efficiency, extending system lifespan. • Contribution to the global hydrogen economy and decarbonization efforts. 6.Technical Achievements • Patents filed (India & worldwide) • Membrane available in 10-30 µm and 120-150 µm thicknesses with high mechanical strength and chemical durability. • Membrane possesses high IEC values and optimum water uptake. • Smooth microstructure and equal distribution of all elements (verified via SEM analysis) • Thermal stability (analyzed using TGA & DSC) • Proven conductivity & electrolysis efficiency 7. Timeline The project is expected to span 24 months, with milestones as follows: • Months 1-12: Prototype fabrication, initial testing, and optimization of various parameters. • Months 13-18: Full-scale performance testing in electrolyzer and fuel cell. • Months 19-24: Completion of pilot plant strategy, and reporting. 8. Conclusion This proposal outlines a strategic plan to revolutionize PEM electrolyzer technology through advanced membrane development. Funding this initiative will accelerate green hydrogen adoption, support the clean energy transition, and create economic opportunities in sustainable technologies. 9. Contact Information Dr. S. S.
