Coconut Cultivation India is ranked as first largest producer of coconut in the world. The crop is grown in 2.08 million ha producing 23954 million nuts annually with productivity of 11505 nuts/ha. Four major Southern States viz., Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh together accounts for 90 per cent of coconut production. Kerala accounts for largest area (36.89 per cent of area) followed by Karnataka (25.20 per cent) and Tamil Nadu with (22.01 per cent). In recent years, coconut water has become quite the trendy beverage.In addition to being naturally sweet and hydrating, coconut water is loaded with several important nutrients, including minerals that many people don’t get enough of.
