We are a Goa-based indigenous alco-beverage company poised to play a leadership role in the craft beer and a significant role in the healthy non-alcoholic beverage segment with our flagship Kombucha brand Borecha Our mission outlines the steps we have taken and intend to take towards innovation, development or improvement of products or processes or services. Mission outline Finest, first of its kind technology To bring to India & the world true to kind craft beers, curated by the finest internationally trained brewers with cutting-edge, first of its kind technology, on a full-fledged commercial scale. Our brewery is fully equipped for the seamless automated process of manufacturing beer with zero room for human error. Le Hui, our equipment suppliers, are in the top five of China’s light industry manufactures with a world-wide footprint. We are the only craft brewery in India to possess an in-house quality control, microbiology and R&D lab along with a pilot brewery for recipe development. This will allow us to be in the cutting edge of innovation. We are one of the few craft beer brands in India to have its own brewing facility. This allows us to guarantee consistent quality and supply of our products. Made in Goa We send to the world, beers made in Goa, India, with fresh local aromas and taste of quality, consistently at and above par with the rest of the world. Which is why we say Maka is your global beer. And your local beer. Procurement of best raw material A large part of our planning has been focussed on the procurement of the best malts, hops, fruits and spices, sourced diligently from different parts of the world for each of our beer types. For instance, we especially source the wild organic honey for our Honey Ale from Jim Corbett Nation Park in North India and the sweet oranges in our Belgian Blanche from Valencia, Spain. Our malts are specially procured from Finland, Germany and Britain. Innovative branding: Intermingling of local and global concepts Our branding is quirky, fun and out-of-the-box. It merges a very local linguistic and endearing name called Konkani names of brands- Maka di and Bore-cha (Maka i.e. me) is our brand name and an astronaut is our brand character, who represents the voyage of discovery. We call Maka a local beer and a global beer. Where the fun, spirit and joie de vivre of Goa meets the traveller and explorer looking for new adventures and paths. Bore-cha( translated to good tea in Konkani). The source of KOmbucha is good tea FROM LATAMBARCEM FOR LATAMBARCEM Community is king in our company One way of giving back to our communities will be to work with those living in and around our brewery for some of the work in our factory and ensure that we engage with the local community in many of our activities. The increased presence of other Goans as well as tourists to the brewery, the beer museum to check out our state of the art beer-making process will lead to economic spin-offs for the village. Most of the non-skilled and some skilled labour is from the village and its surroundings. Our employment policy is based on a “local first” approach, based on the job needs and the skill sets of the candidate The power of zero – The story of our green brewery Ancient astronomer Aryabhatta gave the world the zero digit. And the power of zero was discovered. For us at Latambarcem, we wish to use this power to make our company a zero waste one as soon as possible. We understand the challenges but our effort to become green and zero waste has started from the time we started. We will be a completely green company based on the principle of renewability and zero waste. This means that our brewing will result in no water waste or solid waste. O pollutant water Actually, zero waste is achievable. Water will be treated in such a way that there are zero pollutants. We will have state of the art ETP facilities. No water will leave the premises that cannot be returned to the ground in a pure state. O starch, O sugars. From spent grain to goodies Byproducts: Beyond water, the only solid waste that will come out of the facility will be spent grain. But even that will be used to make byproducts. All this will be very healthy food because the spent grain is without any of the starch and sugars. They are high in fibre and protein and can be used to make high quality, organic delicious foods and sold along with the same brand. Green is not just a colour, it’s the way we work Environment friendly packaging, solar panels, solar heating, and water from the beer plant will be going into the heating systems are all a part of a green ecosystem that goes into almost every aspect of our manufacturing and distribution.
