Have you noticed self-defense almost always means the harm you can do to others? How it serves to give you a misplaced sense of superiority and of importance? The primary purpose of self-defense must be to award the practitioner a sense of calm in the most challenging circumstances. That would allow the practitioner the ability to take quick and collected decisions in spite of their surroundings. The second must be to build confidence in the ability of the practitioner that they can with considered action surmount or escape from a situation. The third must be to award them with the felicity of use of their bodies, physical fitness, in short. The core idea must be first to protect the self. In cases where persistent attack demands action, self-defense must build the ability to turn the situation to one’s advantage and use the materials it provides to focus on discouraging or subduing the attacker. Self-defense then must be all about the journey within. It must be about making one alert and prepared. It must be about readiness and confidence to face up to any situation. It must first be about defense and only then - attack to defend. Your reaction in the first few moments decides the outcome of every attack on you. Strike training will teach you how to quickly focus, plan and execute. Be it flight or fight as the situation demands, Strike will hone your abilities in remaining calm and thinking through a viable plan of action. Strike will help you identify things that you can use, even within a very short window of time. Turning it into a wider window of opportunity. As you thwart the attack you will also continue to think of the next thing to do. The next maneuver to help you end the attack. Strike training will make you perceptive to the opportunities that surround you in a high-pressure situation. The Strike program is inspired by the world's best fighting systems - Krav Maga, Win Chun, Kalari Payattu, etc from across the world. It also evokes its calm from traditional spiritual practices like Yoga, meditation and Tai Chi. What that brings you is what we would like to call the ‘Calm before the Storm’. The Strike Program allows you to find that quick moment of Calm – which allows confident, cool, collected thinking about the possibilities. Before you unleash the Storm of confident, precise action that will allow you to subjugate or to escape. In our experience with school children and with women corporate executives, we have seen that Strike builds confidence and that is the first step to remaining calm and collected. This is proven in study after study as the most critical factor in deciding outcomes. (any detail that you can provide regarding this?) Confidence also makes you better at dealing with the day to day, the world at large. It makes one a better student and a better person. We built Strike Programme first for our nation’s bravehearts - our men and women of the Blackcat Commandos, the armed forces and paramilitary units and state police elite units. The purpose was to meet hand to hand, close-quarter combat requirements under very high-stress situations, like in terrorism. It also assumed that they were to go in unarmed and use what they could of the enemies’ weaponry and such. That is a tough program which takes you in as a trained army personnel and turns you into a fast-thinking fighting machine. For the Strike program for Corporate Women it was not about just tweaking things down. It was about thinking like a woman and then approaching the typical stress situations at work and on the street. The training includes how you can see a situation develop and the ways to de-escalate it. Developing the ability to recognize and avoid trouble. And to react. Effectively. The Strike Program for School Children is also built on the same technical foundations of providing you the ability to confidently respond. It also trains our young ones to recognize and thwart trouble. It also attempts to create strong individuals who are not swayed by peer pressure into bad habits like drug abuse and possess the confidence to act against predators. Strike prepares one to stand up to more than bullying. Life is not easy. We cannot change that. But we can change the way you stand up to it, face it, handle it. In short, Strike is actually about how you live it.
