ABOUT HOUSE OF PAWS Who we are: We are a self funded pet care start up based out of Bangalore. Our Brand launched on the 1st of Nov, 2017. While we have a long way to go, we have launched our first phase with our online store www.houseofpaws.in. We know what it’s like to keep our little ones happy and healthy. Being pet parents ourselves with over 20 years of experience and working with pet-care experts, we’re here to help find the best products and care, for all the little fur babies. We hand pick all our products and ensure the best, healthiest products reach our furry babies. What is the problem the startup is solving?: The basic requirement of food & shelter is long gone. The effort of the parent is to do more for the dog every day. With this fast paced lifestyle, its a hassle to run to the store for all their pet care needs. If they opt to buy online, they are unaware of what to buy or what is good for their dog. While the market has a whole lot of different products and services, its not easy for a pet parent to make the right choices about pet care. They need to explore multiple places for their needs. Keeping this in mind, we propose to consolidate every need a pet parent has on a single platform. This will enable a them to buy products, book services, learn about pet care, keep track of their dog’s health and talk to experts. Build a connect for individuals and organisations to foster and adopt How does your startup propose to solve this problem? 1. An app with a range from affordable to customised luxury products & services available Pan India. - Products (food, health, grooming, treats, bakes, accessories, fashion, furnishing) - Monthly subscription model - Customised products for dogs & dog lovers - Services - Grooming, daycare, training, dog walking, veterinary services, etc. - Pet friendly booking - Hotels, boarding, home stay, dining, cafes, etc. - Log book - Keep track of vaccinations, de-working, weight, heat cycles, etc. - Events - Pet events, playdates, vaccinations drives, adoption drives, etc. - Adoption & fostering - Expert tips & advice on care, training, nutrition, etc. - 2. Make all out own brands available to pet parents across the retail pet care industry. The following modules of the company are live 1. Subscription boxes for dogs Our subscription box called 'The Belly Rub Box' is our hero product. There are 3 variants in this. Pet parents can subscribe to these boxes on a monthly basis to cater to their pet needs. * Each box is customised for every dog * There are over 50+ combinations * All products are handpicked and recommended by experts * Different products every month * A good balance of goodies and necessities 2. Dog toys A curated range of toys for dogs that cater to playtime, bonding with pet parents, teething and other needs 3. Dog Treats (Own Brand) A range of fresh baked cookies and treats for dogs. All products are 100% natural and preservative free 4. Dog fashion accessories (Own Brand) An affordable line of designer accessories for dogs that are handmade. We work with a number of homemakers on this line in a effort to empower women and strengthen our community. Keeping our priority as quality, we have a lot of innovative ideas in the pipeline. We will be phasing the launches keeping budget, quality and operations in mind. Our goal is to make sure dog has a home, every dog is loved and cared for and every dog is spoilt silly in the best ways known to man. How does our startup generate revenue? 1. Sales of products: - Products (food, health, grooming, treats, bakes, accessories, fashion, furnishing) - Monthly subscription model - Customised products for dogs & dog lovers 2. Percentage on bookings: 1. Services - Grooming, daycare, training, dog walking, veterinary services, etc. 2. Pet friendly booking - Hotels, boarding, home stay, dining, cafes, etc. 3. Product sales at venue : 1. Events - Pet events, playdates, vaccinations drives, adoption drives, etc. Who are the people behind the paws? Vikitha Hegde - CO-Founder : Vikitha Hegde comes from the world of advertising. But her first love has always been working with animals. While she excelled in the world of advertising, she made sure that she never gave up on her dream of working with animals. She has volunteered with various wildlife rescue and rehabilitation centres around the city. Her goal in life is to find a way to change the way humans relate to animals and make the world a better place for both. Divya Bajaj- CO-Founder : Divya Bajaj is a sportsperson, photographer, diver and globe trotter along with being a counsellor turned crisis manager. Being in the education industry, she has mastered the art of operations and business development. She loves her dogs, friends and workout. Her love for building the community and adoption makes her determined to bring to life our mission statement of finding every dog a home.
