We would like to introduce our company 'ERA' as a first of its kind Digital Identity Start-up using facial recognition for the verification of identities. As a verification company, we verify identities of individuals for hotels, residential buildings, online money exchanges etc. by taking their photographs and then matching that photo with their photo in the Government Database using facial recognition. ERA handles up to 200-500 verifications a day. Recently, Rajasthan Government organized their 5th Annual Hackathon to promote digital innovation in Government Projects. Since the Hackathon was socially inclined we decided to modify our software for this case. Instead of using our facial recognition algorithm for any individual in the government database we just concentrated on the Government Database of 'Missing Children.' Hence what the new app allowed us to do was click a photo of any child and we could match if their photograph existed on the missing children's database. Any user just has to click a photo of a child and the facial recognition will tell the user if the child has been missing or not in seconds. This was a major success at the Hackathon, wherein, Rajasthan Government gave us a contract for using our product to identify missing children.
