Draupadi is a sustainable lifestyle brand that upcycles post- production sari waste into bold bags and accessories. As we know that fashion and textile industry is the second most polluting industry in the world, responsible for between 8 to 10% of total carbon emissions and 20% of global wastewater, with a predicted increase of 50% in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030.We make use of the textile waste generate from the sari industries of Mathura, Surat, we create statement pieces like tote bags, wooden handcrafted bags, vanity pouches, laptop sleeves and since its inception we have created 70 products and accessories including designer bags and utility based products.we have exhibited in Delhi Ncr and have gained appreciation and sales from them. We were also present at Italian embassy earth Mela and was appreciated by cabinet minster karthikey Chidambaram. We employ women from underprivileged backgrounds of Mathura and generate employment opportunities to them. We aim to reduce the carbon footprint of the textile industries.
