In their own words

Damacas has been started to create a change, to support the Vocal for Local initiative and creating a more empowered Aatma Nirbhar Bharat. We have so many vendors, manufacturers suppliers and distributors in India who create amazing products and yet our customers have access to E-commerce giants like Amazon and also Flipkart where we do not necessarily know in all cases where our products are made and where they come from. Damacas is here to solve that; every product you see on our website across different categories, are all made in India. We not only aim to improve current multi-vendor marketplaces, we aim to include innovations that large giants have not done and we have the ability to provide excellent customer support and set these processes from the beginning. With the introduction of a B2C platform and a specific segment for B2B we will not only increase wealth generation but we will be improving the overall economy, helping these vendors grow their businesses and fulfilling the need to increase employability across different segments like warehousing, logistics and in the functioning of the core business. Our local express delivery segment will provide an added USP and employability for many people. We already have a product which is functional with customers placing orders for various items on our website. Whilst we recognize the need to update the technology, have AI/VR functions to have an added advantage and better customer experience, we understand that the focus is always getting the MVP out in the market for testing. This has enabled us to improve processes, get more vendors on board and get satisfied customers. We continue to learn and improve different functions. There are a lot of existing shortfalls with multi-vendor marketplaces, the first being that products made in India are not clearly identifiable or highlighted. There are a lack of marketing techniques, vendors and artisan stories are lost in the whole process, there is poor customer service, quality of goods are not assessed, usability of tech can be poor and policies which are not in the favour of the customer. Damacas has a defined strategy to solve each problem and improve how this marketplace functions and the accessibility it gives it customers. We currently have vendors on board with signed agreements and their products on our website, live, for customers to purchase. These vendors having products ranging from home furnishing, home décor essentials, apparels, footwear, handicrafts, furniture to personal care. We already have an operational business with customer orders, funding will help us implement the USP features, scale the business and upgrade the tech features which is necessary for scaling.

What we do not know

We have no liveness signal for any company on this site: no filings feed, no revenue, no check that the website still resolves. A startup existing here means a startup exists, not that a business is trading.
