We are a social enterprise seeking to connect artisans and NGOs to markets through e-commerce and B2B corporate gifting. We work towards supplier development through design intervention and unit economics to help create products that are handmade or sustainable for modern day living. Customers today are looking for such products to replace unsustainable functional products already in use. Digital marketing has made it harder for small producers to compete in an over crowded market and we seeks to differentiate their work by being transparent about our suppliers while helping them become more marketable. Some tech solutions we are building towards this is to be able to predict and manage inventory since handmade products have higher lead time and producers usually make on order. This means there are lean times when they are unable to sell and busy times when they are unable to produce as fast. Other issue with corporate gifting is that their products are not designed and presented well enough apart from the fact that working capital requirements make it unsustainable for them to produce thousands of units without resources for raw materials since corporates have a 45-60 day payment lag. We intervene to solve such challenges. Our new B2B portal will enable bulk buyers to pick up inventory of artisans and NGOs with minimal friction and help cater to demand that is urgent, unable to afford lead time. Our e-commerce portal has detailed stories of our producers many of them requiring our support and helps create supply chain transparency for the end consumer. We are also involved in handicraft related customer education and also upcycling through our community engagement activities on social media.
